Anurag Kashyap’s success in cinema has been recognized with various awards as he works his way around tinsel town as a director and writer.
Anurag Kashyap – The Director He directed Black Friday (2004) which was about the 1993 Bombay Bombings and Kashyap even did a bit role as an ISI operative. The movie stood out, even on the international platform. It was screened at the Locarno International Film Festival and was nominated for the Golden Leopard. It won the Grand Jury Prize at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles.
He wrote and directed No Smoking (2007) and the animation Hanuman Returns (2007).
Dev D is his big release in 2009. He has written the screenplay and directed the movie which is a twenty first century take on Devdas, originally a novel by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. In March 2009, Gulaal will be released after a long delay.

Satya (1998) with Saurabh Shukla was about the Mumbai underworld and won the Star Screen Award for Best Screenplay.
He wrote the dialogues for Shool (1999) about dirty politics and the controversial Deepa Mehta’s Water (2005) about the widows in Varanasi.
He worked with Harry Baweja and Bhavani Iyer for Main Aisa Hi Hoon (2005).
The dialogues of the hit comedy Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd (2007) were created by Kashyap and also the football centric movie Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal (2007).
