Ashu Trikha is a multi-faceted personality. He has not reached the pinnacle of success in Bollywood, but that does not undermine the fact that he has done a lot in this industry, and is continuing to do so.
He started off by giving the Special Effects in David Dhawan’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1998). In 1999 he made the Television promos of Silsila Hai Pyaar Ka (1999). From then on he has assumed many different roles. Here they are:
Special Effects: • In 2000 he gave the special effects for Chal Mere Bhai and Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya. Both films were barely average.
• In 2003 he worked on a horror film, Hawa, starring Tabu. The film sank without a trace.
Screenplay: • He wrote the screenplay for a thriller titled Sheesha (2005). • In 2006 he gave us a sci-fi, Alag: He is different…he is alone.
Assistant Director: • In 1999 he worked on The Real McCoy a documentary film on Andy McCoy’s life as a rock musician.
• In 2008 he assisted Ashok Gupta on Yaar Meri Zindagi starring Amitabh Bachchan.
Director: • His first film as a Director was Deewanapan (2001). Starring Arjun Rampal and DIya Mirza the film flopped abysmally.
• He also Directed Sheesha and Alag, the same films he wrote the screenplay for.
His latest film Baabarr, scheduled to release on 11th September 2009 deals with crime and criminals. He must have his fingers crossed, hoping for a hit.
