Tottempudi Gopichand was born on 12th June 1982 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India to T.Krishna, a movie director who passed away when he was eight years old. He moved to Russia to complete a course in engineering but turned to acting when his brother Premchand died in a car accident soon after he made his debut as a director.
