Basics on Jayam
Jayam was born as Ravi Mohan in Chennai, India on the 10th September 1980. His parents are Mohan, a film editor and Varalakshmi. His brother M.Raja is a director while his sister Roja is a dentist.
Jayam did his schooling in Chennai at the Jawahar Vidyalaya and later at the Loyola College and has a degree in Visual Communications. He is a Bharathnatyam dancer trained under Nalini Balakrishnan. He also studied acting at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute in Mumbai.
Jayam Ravi’s Movies
2003 Jayam made his debut in Jayam which was a big hit and prompted him to change his name to Jayam Ravi. The movie was produced by his father and directed by his brother.
2004 M Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi with Asin was another major hit. It was a remake of a Tamil movie Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi. It was a about a man who reconnects with his estranged father.
2005 In 2005, of his three releases, Daas was a hit while Mazhai and Idhaya Thirudan were a moderate success.
2006 The Tamil movie with Trisha, Something Something ... Unnakum Ennakum was a blockbuster. It was directed by his brother.
2007 Jayam’s only release in 2007 was Deepali which was an average performer.
2008 He worked with his brother M.Raja again in Santosh Subramaniam and it was successful. His movie with Jeeva called Dhaam Dhoom had a big opening and starred Kangana Ranaut and Lakshmi Rai. He played a doctor who gets embroiled in a murder mystery when he visits Russia.
2009 Jayam’s next release is Peranmai and his role is based on Stallone in Rambo.
