Koena Mitra, born on 7th January 1979, in Kolkata, is a trained dancer. She is associated with Mamta Shankar’s ballet troupe.
In 2002, she won the Gladrags’ Mega Model Contest. She was seen in ads for the brands Mirinda, Maruti Alto and Clinic All Clear. She also appeared in music videos like Jassi’s Channo and Stereo Nation’s Ishq.

Koena Mitra was first seen on the big screen in an item number Khullam Khulla in Ram Gopal Varma’s Road (2002). In 2005, she starred in a lead role in Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena with Fardeen Khan. The same year she had a guest role in David Dhawan’s Shaadi No.1.
Sangeeth Sivan’s Apna Sapna Money Money (2006) was a flop. In the hit movie Heyy Baby (2007), she appeared in a song sequence. Anant Mahadevan’s Anamika (2008), which was a remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s Rebecca, failed to do well. It also starred Minissha Lamba and Dino Morea.
In 2009, she will be seen in an item number in a Tamil movie Ayan which stars Surya and Tamanna Bhatia.
