Kunal Deshmukh is another talented director to emerge from Vishesh Films.
Early Days
Kunal Deshmukh always had a creative bent of mind. Growing up, he loved art and elocution.
His parents weren’t keen about Deshmukh taking up movie making. This made him opt for a course in advertising. However, while in the USA, he indulged in his passion by taking up a course in filmmaking.
Back in India, he met Mohit Suri through a mutual friend and went onto work with Suri.
Director
Kunal Deshmukh assisted Mohit Suri in the movies Zeher, Kalyug, and Woh Lamhe. It was then time for him to step up the ladder. He did this with Jannat (2008), which he wrote and directed. The movie starred the Vishesh Films’ favourite boy, Emraan Hashmi, and a former beauty queen, Sonal Chauhan. The movie was a love story with the lures of quick money woven into it.
His second movie under the Vishesh Films banner is Tum Mile, releasing in 2009. The movie stars Emraan Hashmi and Soha Ali Khan and is set during the rains that flooded Mumbai in 2005.
