Kunal Khemu was born to actors Ravi Khemu and Jyoti Khemu who are Kashmiri Brahmins. He was born on 25th May 1983 in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. He studied at the Niranjanlal Dalmia High School. His college years were spent in Mumbai at the Narsee Monjee College.
