Nandita Das was born on 7th November 1969 in New Delhi, India. Her father is a painter Jatin Das, who was from Orissa and her mother Varsha Das is a writer. She married Soumya Sen in 2002.

Das studied at the Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in New Delhi and has a degree in Geography from the Delhi School of Social Work. She was part of a theater group Jannatya Manch. She ...
