Preeti Jhangiani was born on 18th August 1980 in Mangalore, Karnataka. She is a Sindhi and has an older sister, Deepa.
She studied at Jai Hind College where her mother is the vice principal.
Preeti Jhangiani’s husband is the actor Parvin Dabas, who was seen in Monsoon Wedding. They got married in 2008 and live in Bandra, Mumbai.

Preeti Jhangiani’s debut was Mazhavillu (1999), a Malayalam movie. She stepped into Bollywood as a young widow in the multi starrer Mohabattein (2000). The movie was a major success.
Since then she has acted in nearly twenty movies in various languages. Some of the movies include Awara Pagal Deewana (2002), LOC Kargil (2003), Sajna Ve Sajna (2007) and Visakha Express (2008).
