Director Rahul Rawail was born in 1951 in Bombay, Maharashtra, India. He is the son of Harnam Singh Rawail.
He started his career as an assistant director, for movies like Bobby (1973), Kal Aaj Aur Kal (1971) and Mera Naam Joker (1970). He was a producer for a couple of movies like Dacait (1987), Mast Kalandar (1991) and Buddha Mar Gaya (2007).
He has edited the movie Jo Bole So Nihal (2005) and has also acted in that movie as Al Fatah Terrorist. He is also a writer for Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (2009) and Deedar-E-Yaar (1982).
