Basics on Randeep
Randeep Singh Hooda was born on 20th August 1976 in Rohtak, Haryana, India. His family belongs to the Hindu Jat community. His parents are Dr Ranbir Hooda, a surgeon and Asha Hooda, a social worker.
He studied at the MNSS School in Sonepat, Haryana and Delhi Public School in New Delhi. He continued his studies in Melbourne, Australia. He has a Master’s degree in Business Management and Human Resource Management.
On the side, he took up odd jobs as a taxi driver and a waiter. He started working in Marketing and was involved in theater. Hooda was associated with the Motley Theater Company for four years.
Randeep Hooda was dating the former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen.
Randeep Hooda’s Movies
Randeep Hooda’s first movie was Mira Nair’s Monsoon Wedding (2001) where he played Rahul who is visiting India for his cousin’s marriage. He returned back to the big screen with Ram Gopal Varma’s D (2005) as a mechanic who becomes a powerful man in the underworld.
He was part of a large star cast in Ram Gopal Varma’s Darna Zaroori Hai (2006) and in Risk (2007). Arjun Bali’s Ru Ba Ru was released in 2008 and he was cast opposite Shahana Goswami.
His international project Karma Confessions and Holi (2009), which saw him with Sushmita Sen, was a dismal flop as was Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye (2009) with Raima Sen.
His next release is Ketan Mehta’s Rang Rasiya (2009) in which he plays the painter Raja Ravi Verma, with Nandana Sen as the leading lady. Hooda plans to continue working in theater.
