Biography

Born on 8 December 1946 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India, Sharmila Tagore is a relative of the Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Sharmila converted to Islam in order to marry Mansoor Ali Khan, Nawab of Pataudi and officially changed her name to Ayesha Sultana. She then married him in 1968. They have three children: Saif Ali Khan (b. 1970), Saba Ali Khan, and Soha Ali Khan (b. 1978)
