Vijay Krishna Acharya is a writer turned director.
Vijay as a writer: He has written the story, screenplay, and dialogues for many superhit Bollywood movies. In 2004 he wrote the dialogues and screenplay for one of the biggest blockbusters Dhoom (2004). Vijay's dialogues in the comedy film Pyaar Ke Side Effects (2006) evoked some good laughs. Vijay also worked on the sequel, Dhoom 2.
Vijay wrote the dialogues for Mani Ratnam's Guru (2007) which had Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Bachchan in the lead. This was a story about an ambitious villager who tries to achieve his dreams. He wrote the lyrics for one of the songs in Abhishek Bachchan's Bluffmaster (2005).
Vijay's Tashan: The writer's directorial debut was Tashan (2008). It starred Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor. This is a funny story about Jeetendra Kumar who works in the call center and is recruited by a young woman, Pooja. Even though it had big stars in it, the movie did not do well at the box office. The story, screenplay, and dialogue of this movie are penned by Vijay.
