All is not well between Sudeep and Indrajith Lankesh, who were once very good friends. Sudeep even did a cameo in Indrajith’s debut film Thuntaata (2002), but their friendship turned sour and there were rumours that Sudeep had attacked Indrajith at a party some years back. The two then parted ways and haven’t been seeing eye-to-eye for the last couple of years.
Now in what seems to be an attempt to settle old dues with his one-time friend, Indrajith has played a character called 'Deepu' in his latest venture, Dev S/O Muddegowda, which insiders believe is a mockery of sorts of the Kiccha star. According to the film, 'Deepu' is a famous hero who is known for his tantrums. 'Deepu' not only dictates the film producers and directors, but also the media on what to do and what not to do. The character 'Deepu' arrives in the second half and his portion is narrated comically.
Though rumours have been doing the rounds that Indrajith has deliberately etched the character to settle old dues, Indrajith however refuses to comment on the issue saying the character was not based on Sudeep but on any hero who throws tantrums.
Now that Indrajith has made his stand clear, will Sudeep react to this or will he just let go? Well, Only time will tell.
