
Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar and Ramya have been acknowledged the best actor and actress at the 59th South Filmfare Award ceremony held at Chennai on Saturday night. The awards were given away for the year 2011.
While, Puneeth got the best actor award for his outstanding performance in the film Hudugaru, Ramya was considered the best actress for her performance in the film Sanju Weds Geetha.
Sanju Weds Geetha bagged as many as four awards, including best actress (Ramya), best female playback singer (Shreya Ghoshal), best music director (Jassie Gift) and best lyricist (Kaviraj).
Olave Mandara got two awards including the best film award and the best director (Jayatheertha) award. While Shruthi was adjudged the best supporting actress award for her performance in Puttakkana Highway, Ravishankar who played a villain in Sudeep starrer Kempegowda was adjudged the best supporting actor award.
