The much-awaited comeback of comedian Vadivelu still remains very much on paper and hasn’t yet moved forward, much to the disappointment of his huge number of fans. Something is apparently ‘blocking’ the efforts of Kollywood’s producers and directors in signing up Vadivelu for their films, signaling the end of the one-and-a-half-year ‘boycott’ of the comedian.
Vadivelu was part of the recently released Marubadiyum oru Kaadhal but his sequences were canned long back when he was favoured by producers and directors. That the film didn’t light up the box-office has made matters more complex for Vadivelu. Putting up a brave face, though, he asserts that he’d be back in action soon.
In what is perceived as a ‘wrong’ career move by observers, Vadivelu said “I have decided to play only lead roles in films from now onwards. Simbudevan, who made Imsai Arasan 23-m Pulikesi, is preparing a suitable script for me and the details would be made available as and when we start filming.
Another newcomer has narrated a script called Tenaliraman to me. I loved it and am planning to act in it. I will make formal announcements very soon about the above-said films.”
