Popular writer and film-maker Trivikram Srinivas, known to be a close associate of comedian-turned-hero Sunil, has a word of advice for his friend. Srinivas feels that Sunil is more suited to playing the lead roles in films and has said that from now onwards, he should continue to focus more in playing lead roles instead of comic ones.
Srinivas is of the opinion that in the aftermath of the success of Poola Rangadu, Sunil should no more hesitate from playing lead roles and should not deviate from his newly-chosen path. He should concentrate hard on building an image of an action-hero.
As a comedian, Sunil has acted along almost all the top heroes in Tollywood and it should be a new experience for him to be playing lead roles. Personally, it is said that Sunil is not after hero’s roles. However, he is extremely satisfied that he had done justice to the lead role he took on. At the same time, he is not reportedly against continuing to play comedian and as sidekick to popular heroes.
“My status might have changed but the value I accord to my work has not changed”, says Sunil philosophically as he considers being a ‘hero’ to be a burdensome act to follow. As a comedian, it is enough if he appears in a few frames in a film but a hero, on the contrary, has to appear in almost all the sequences besides carrying the film on his shoulders to ensure that it turns out to be a hit venture at the box-office!
At present, Sunil is starring in lead role in the Telugu remake of the Hindi hit Tanu Weds Manu which featured Madhavan and Kangna Ranaut in lead roles. Remains to be seen as to what Sunil decides in future about his career!
