Indrajith Lankesh’s Dev S/O Muddegowda despite being just an average grosser has no other option, but to move out of the main theatre Triveni, as Ravichandran’s Dashamukha is scheduled for the same theatre this week.
Though Indrajith cries foul against this injustice, he is more upset about Lucky than Dashamukha. Indrajith claims that Dev was supposed to be released in Sagar, but the theatre continued to screen Lucky produced by former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s wife Radhika, in spite of its poor performance.
“The film was in deficit in the sixth week. But however, in the seventh week a lucky draw was announced in the theatre. Moreover, people from all over were brought to see the film for free and there was sudden increase in the collection of the film. Keeping this collection as the yardstick, we were deprived of the opportunity of releasing our film in the theatre. With no other go we had to release the film in Triveni.
As Triveni is booked for Dashamukha, we have no other option but to move out of the theatre” says Indrajith.
Dev will be shifted from Triveni to Sapna from second week onwards.
