Every Friday sees a film release, which was a norm in Kollywood some years ago. But all this has changed in the course of time. This weekend though saw a few releases including the much-awaited Oru Kal Oru Kannadi.
OK OK starring Udhayanidhi Stalin and Hansika in the lead roles expectedly opened with a bang and being a youthful movie, it saw youngsters streaming in front of cinema halls in pretty good numbers.
Sources said the initial response for the film was indeed good and the film's cast and crew including director M Rajesh were upbeat about the prospects.
It is said that OKOK released in around 300 screens, which does make for a grand opening. Meanwhile, two other smaller films, Pacchai Engira Kaathu and Varthangal 20 also released on Tamil New Year’s day and are also hoping to garner some viewership.
In the meantime, Udhayanidhi has issued a statement thanking the audience for accepting him as an actor, in which he said “The response to Oru Kal Oru Kannadi is so overwhelming. I thank one and all”.
