Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday condoled the death of veteran music composer M S Viswanathan’s wife Janaki (74), who passed away at a private hospital in Chennai on Monday evening.
In her message, she said, “I was saddened to hear about Janaki demise. It is an irrevocable loss for the family. I pray Almighty to give them strength to bear the loss.”
Senior AIADMK leaders E Madhusudhanan and Sulochana Sampath also visited Viswanathan's house and paid floral tributes to the deceased on behalf of the Chief Minister.
According to sources close to the family, Janaki suffered from a kidney failure and was hospitalised. She failed to respond to the treatment and breathed her last at around 4.15 pm on Monday.
The body was kept at the family’s Santhome residence and the cremation ceremony was held on May 15. A lot of Kollywood personalities expressed grief and paid their respects to Janaki.
