It was widely reported in the media that Lohitadas's family is in deep financial crisis and their properties are facing loss following impending bank loans. Vijay Sankar and Hari Krishna, sons of the late acclaimed director, and their mother Sindhu sought financial help from the chief minister Oommen Chandy, for their two properties.
They requested the CM to help them postpone the attachment of their property in Aluva, which bears a loan of 50 lakhs, and another at Lakkidi in Palakkad, which bears a loan of 15 lakhs. The CM has assured maximum help and support.
The financial status of the director and his family met with crisis following the failure of Tamil version of his Malayalam hit Kasthooriman, produced and directed by Lohitadas.
