Nandita Das is considered one among the finest performers in Indian cinema. Her acting skills are rather well-documented and she has been part of several memorable movies.
She has featured in a handful of Tamil projects including Mani Ratnam's Kannathil Muthamittal and Vishwa Tulasi. In fact, she acted in Parthiban's Azhagi and cornered a lot of the attention with a measured performance as the protagonist's ex-flame, who works as a maid servant in his household owing to circumstances.
Now the buzz is that she will be seen in a Tamil film again. She will be seen in a key role in Udhayanidhi Stalin's next production venture Neer Paravai.
It is a small-budget film but it looks like some leading names are being enlisted. The director Seenu Ramasamy's previous film was Thenmerku Paruvakkatru, which won a National Award last year.
He said that he was excited to work with an artiste like Nandita Das and added that she would be doing a special role in the film. It is also said that the actress would be shooting for around 10 days for the film in May.
Neer Paravai has Vishnu and Sunaina in the lead, and was slated to go on the floors in February but due to the film industry stir and the lead actor suffering an injury; the film had to be rescheduled.
