Actress Priya Anand of Nootrenbathu fame is said to have been initially chosen to don the female lead in Thuppakki opposite Vijay.
However, she had to say no as she had already agreed to do the Bollywood project English Vinglish which marks the comeback of yesteryear heroine Sridevi.
Meanwhile, now it is emerging that Priya has been picked to act opposite Siva Karthikeyan in Ethir Neechal, which is produced and apparently scripted by Dhanush. The film is directed by Manikandan, a former associate of Vetrimaran.
Also, there is talk that she may be chosen for the role of lead lady in Kirthika Udhayanidhi Stalin's directorial debut.
