In an unprecedented move Manjunath and Venkatesh, the producers of Charminar have walked out of the film citing financial problems. With no other options left, director R Chandru has turned independent producer with this film.
When Chandru’s earlier film Ko Ko bombed at the box-office, it was producer Manjunath who came to his rescue and helped him do another film immediately. Their friendship thus grew and Chandru even cast him in a pivotal role in his film, Prem Kahani in a major role.
Manjunath then came forward to produce this film under Chandru’s direction.
The film saw a big launch and even two schedules of the film were completed smoothly. But sources say that the producer does not have ample resources to complete the film and that is the reason he has backed out of the project.
Chandru also reiterated the same, saying, “There is no misunderstanding between us and all is well. The only problem was Manjunath didn’t have enough funds to complete the film. So, we departed on mutual consent and now I am the independent producer of the film.”
The director has completed 70per cent of the filming and will be shortly travelling to USA for a three day shoot.
