There have been a slew of cinematographers, who have made the transition to direction, a few rather successful too. The names that immediately spring to mind are Balumahendra, Rajeev Menon, KV Anand and Thangar Bachchan.
The latest to join the bandwagon is acclaimed cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, who has worked with the best filmmakers and is known for his superlative work in several Tamil films and also in Bollywood films like Ghajini, Saawariya, Dostana and Dil Chahtha Hai among others.
Speculation is that Ko star Jiiva will play the lead role in this proposed venture. Sources have it that this yet-to-be-titled Kollywood film will be produced by RS Infotainment and Ayananka Bose, who has assisted Ravi K Chandran and Rajiv Menon will be the director of photography.
It is expected that an official announcement will be made shortly.
