After changing its original release schedules twice, Prithviraj's new film Simhasanam is finally hitting the theatres today (August 10).
Scripted and directed by Shaji Kailas, the movie opens in 72 centres across Kerala. An action thriller which also tells an intense story about the relationship between a father and son, played by Saikumar and Prithviraj, the movie is expected to have a free run at least for the next eight-ten days till the arrival of the Ramzan biggies.
The makers are largely thought to have taken a gamble by releasing the movie during Ramzan, to avoid competition from the Eid and Onam releases like Mammootty’s Thappana and Mohanlal’s Run Baby Run.
If Simhasanam doesn't get a fair, positive opinion, chances are that it may complete the hat-trick of flops for Prithviraj, after Masters and Hero. The movie is also a crucial film for Shaji Kailas, who is gearing up to change to lighter movies after this.
