Taruni Sachdev, the child artiste who became a household name in Kerala with her appearance in Malayalam films Vellinakshatram (2004) and Sathyam (2004), was among the 15 people who were killed in the Nepal plane crash in Kathmandu yesterday. Her mother, Geetha Sachdev also died in the crash.
The 14-year old who has appeared in many commercials is most popular for her Rasna commercials. She also appeared in a few films. Her last big screen appearance was in Big B's Paa while she was last seen on TV as a participant in Shah Rukh Khan’s TV show Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?
The little artiste’s death has left the whole film industry numb with shock, and those who have worked with her, including the Bachchans, have expressed their grief and disbelief at the news through twitter.
"Just reading that Taruni Sachdev the girl child artist in 'Paa', has perished in Nepal plane crash. Please God may this not be true. I am so shaken. She was the most bright and beautiful little girl," tweeted Big B.
