After lengthy delays, Balaji Sakthivel's Vazhakku Enn 18/9 has finally hit screens today. The director debuted with Samurai (2002) and went on to helm Kallori (2007), but both films didn’t do very well at the B.O. He rose to fame with Kadhal (2004), which became a super hit and was also critically acclaimed.
Balaji Sakthivel's latest offering is focusing on relationships and the so-called “love” of today's generation.
He has chosen a slew of new faces for the film including Sri, Mithun Murali, Urmila Mahanta, Manisha Yadav and Muthuraman. Music is by guitarist R Prasanna.
Recently, a special show was held for K-town stars in Chennai and everyone who watched the movie was all praise for it.
While veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja said Vazhakku En 18/9 is the apex of realism, others said that the movie would occupy an important place in the history of Indian cinema.
