Comments please... Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Shankar-Jaikishan and A.R Rehaman have been dominating the music....Laxmikant-Pyarelal were unlucky to miss the awards in 1986 for "Utsav". At the same time they also deserves more awards...like "Do Raaste" 1970.."Bobby" 1973, "Ek Duje Ke Liye" 1981 "Sur Sangam"..1985 .etc

Anyone visiting page, please be warned that this poster Ajay is a fan of Laxmikant-Pyarelal and have listed many incorrect nominations above. Let me tell you the truth straight from the April 1996 issue of Filmfare:

1953:  There were no nominations this year and Naushad directly won the award for Baiju Bawra.

1954: There were no nominations this year and S.D. Burman directly won the award for Taxi Driver.

1955: SJ (Shri 420) and SD Burman (Devdas) were not nominated.

1956: Madan Mohan (Bhai Bhai) was not nominated.

1957:  OP Nayyar (Naya Daur) won this year. C Ramchandra (Aasha) was nominated too.

1958: Salil Chowdhary (Madhumati) won this year. SJ (Yahudi) and OP Nayyar (Phagun) were nominated too.

1966: RD Burman (Teesri Manzil) was not nominated.

1967:  LP (Shagird) and LP (Farz) were not nominated.

1968:  LP (Aaya Sawan Jhoomke) and SD Burman (Jewel Thief) were not nominated.  Ajay also has a very bad habit of using the letter 'z' for 'jh' sound, e.g. Zumke instead of Jhoomke or Zeel instead of Jheel.

1969: LP (Intiqaam) and Roshan (Anokhi Raat) were not nominated. The 3rd nomination (that Ajay does not list) was SJ (Chanda Aur Bijli)

1981: Khayyam won it for Umrao Jaan, not 'Unrao Jaan'. RD Burman (Kudrat) and LP (Kranti) were not nominated. The other 2 nominees (that Ajay does not list here) were Bappi Lahiri (Armaan) and Shiv-Hari (Silsila).

So please do not fall for Ajay's propaganda of promoting LP and spreading false information about them.

There is no doubt about I am fan of Laxmikant-Pyarelal's music. Yes there may be a mistakes on listing the nominations. But there are no mistakes in listing the Award Winning names.

It has been observed that so many music lovers of jeleous of the thumping success of Laxmikant-Pyarelal's music (1963-1998) and I found you are one of them.

there is mistake in "1993 best music"...

 the award went to ANU MALIK for BAAZIGAR not Nadeem Sharavan.

 However, i think the following deserved for the best music...

LP = Prem Rog (1982) 

LP = Hero (1983) 

 Anand Raaj Anand = Kaante (2002)

Vishal Bharadwaaj = Omkara (2006)

L-P NOMINATED FOR KRANTI 81.

      L-P WERE GREAT THAN R.D.BURMAN.
