Re: Is 'Eklavya' the right choice, to represent indian cinema in Oscars?
* I am not sure why movies going from india should reflect indian society etc. Movies are meant to be entertainers, they are meant to engross audience's attention .. My take is any movie from indi, should be a commercial success here. * I think eklavya would have a better chance than chak de india - chak de is too cliched and indians may like it, but global audience would probably hate it.. * Not sure if namesake would qualify from india. it has a hollywood director .. at the same time its a flop in india. Parzania can be a good choice , but its too controversial - and many people find it to be a biased - It definitely has tons of emotional and inspirational appeal .. * I think Guru would have been a great choice - It was a commercial success, Indians liked it, It showcased india , At the same time it is an inspiration story - showcased both the +ve/-ve aspects of both the sides , and would have been appreciated by a global audience.
