Italian Slum?! – toh hum dil de chuke sanam 

In the movie HDDCS, Ash went all the way to italy to meet her lover. But before actually meeting Salman – her lover for 8 months, she happens to meet his mother and also saw the slum area where he actually belonged. Nandini (Ash) was a Princess – whose father was rich as well as a Musician Maestro . She had grown up in luxury and comfort, On seeing the slum area she realized that her parents were correct after all that they wed her off to a man who himself belonged to a palace and had a similar – rich – background as hers.

 

Thank God she realized at the nick of time and ran back to the arms of comfort that she was used to since childhood – and thus she eventually gives her heart to Ajay Devgan – in spite of the fact that he was much uglier to look at than Salman. This is what practicality is all about. Wake up to reality girlz – wake up.

 The Bollywood or other story writers - esp. males - must have always yearned for some rich and beautiful dame – thus they give such fantasies to their kinds of people.

the thing u mentioned., it never hapened in  nick of time., a lot of happened after ash had met helen(And i dont really think those were slums however there were few small but beautifull houses).Ladki ko goli lagi., ladke ne apna sabkuch(Except Angoothi )bech-bach kar ash ko bachaya.,uski sewa ki and ash gradually developed love for his bechara Pati thats is also shown beautifully  in the song  'hum dil de chuke sanam....tere ho gaye hain hum...teri kasam'

In general i m pretty i m pretty conviced about the practicality of life as mentioned  but  one can't extract out that fact from the movie especially the way u did.

aumaparna From where did this ameer gareeb differences come from in the movie  no where has the director shown salman was a gareeb ladka

was thos r slum?eh!! ds s not a typicl lv story dat u mentiond.

Hey dont mind folks, she has the habit of drawing her own sweet conclusions, which has nothing to do with the movie, or the message that is being conveyed, or what the director is trying to say.........

Yes I agree with Birju, a lot happened, and they were not slums, they were better than so called posh localities of Kolkata, and I guess a lot of europe is similar because it is dense, guess you need to brush up your geography ;-)

huh?...haan anguthi bech bach ke he admitted her in the hospital... he had no alternative also - aur kya karta? frankly speaking the kala kauwa that Ajay was - as compared to lovely Ash - the first time he saw her in Nimbodaa song - where she was looking  mind blowing...she looked like a dove ! and he? a kala crow - and when crows happen to get such a beautiful wife ...unki toh sitti-pitti hi gul ho jati hai...thus he took the troubles of taking her all the way to Italy.

If she had wee bit of brains - she wud have managed a snap of salman for him to see...anyways Maestro's daughter ...not much can be expected of her..naach liya vahi kaafi hai !

SAlman's father had expired..helen was making both ends meet...and remember how he discusses the 'fart' incident with his mother and they both lol-ed !! i mean what a thing to discuss ...shows the slummy taste...yeah - i think salman's entire house was the size of Ash's bedroom.....compared to her life style - he was in slums...

Mumbai has the biggest slum area in India - a GK information for all of u...if u get a chance in KBC....

Salman house was never shown in the movie., so may be u've seen some deleted scene in the original dvd .

And wat u want to depict by the salman-fart seen is out of context., Tehn u shifted to ugkiness of ajay devgan., many find him handsome than salman(Not me :))

Only one thing based on facts that mumbai has the largest slum (Named Dharavi)And for some more GK ;-the largest ................ is in Kolkata named golden tree largely known as sonagachi this is for if u get a chance to go to KBC.

Now i know i ve pulled the trigger .. waiting for the massacre now.

but i wonder wat the govt of w bengal  is upto.after it all developed gradually.communist parties had almost ruined the pre freedom glorious era of bengal, they ruined each and every chance of developement.,many people from bihar kept on moving to kolkata and they only added chaos to the once 'city of joy'.

I wonder why r we defending salman house's size... that was least associated with the subject of the movie or point to ponder over...

house size and background...bahut gehera sambandh hai Melord/s...bahut gehera...jab sabzi mandi main jaake veges price haggle karna padta hai - esp. a Princess who had never been to a sabzi mandi....all love will fizzle out...honeymoon ka nasha 2-3 months tak reheta hai..then? then u face the bitter reality - when a Princess has to stand in a queue for :

K- oil  Ration  Bus  ....then all LOVE evaporates and you want to go back in the lap of luxuries.

why do ppl steal...work...terrorise other..murder...? for money - to buy comfort and luxury...think abt it.

madam humare des main Reliance fresh aa chuka hai ab sabzi mandi jaane ki zaroorat nahi hai, and if you have anything against the Ambanis then u can always go to Subhiksha ;-)
