Pancham's last days....

Was reading Trivia on Pancham over wikipedia, found out that his last days were spent in a lot of financial trouble.

This is actually sad that we realize what a legend he was pretty late. He gave some ultimate music, I guess he is one of the best Music Directors Bollywood has ever got.

Trivia on Pancham, taken from wikipedia:

According to stories, Rahul Dev Burman was nicknamed PANCHAM because, as a child, whenever he cried, it sounded in the fifth note (Pa) of the Indian musical scale. The word Pancham means five (or fifth) in Bengali and Sanskrit. Another version is that when the veteran Indian actor Ashok Kumar saw a newborn Rahul Dev Burman uttering the syllable Pa repeatedly, he nicknamed the boy Pancham.

I remember "1942 a love story" being the first full album I have ever listened and I listened it for long time ... I still stop surfing the channel if any of its song playing.

Trivia on RD Burman:

RDB was the first to introduce the Brazilian bossa nova rhythm in Hindi film music - the song was "Maar dalega dard-e-jigar", sung by Asha, in "Pati Patni". That rhythm has since been endlessly used for film music

Re: Pancham's last days....
yeah this is a fact, and a lot of credit for this goes to Mr Subhash Ghai, during his last days he wasnt on very good terms with Ghai, and at that time Ghai was the biggest showman after Raj Kapoor in bollywood.
