Learning a Valuable Lesson the Hard way
We sauntered through a crowd of people which seemed like a stampede of buffalos rushing to get Christmas presents before closing time. And it was in that crowd that I got lost. As I think about it now, it just seems like a nightmare that took place long ago, but as we discuss about it as a family, I come to realize more and more of its existence. I think about how I, as a six year old child got lost in what seemed to me to be the middle of nowhere and how I was smart enough to save myself.
It all started when we were strolling through the stores of the beautifully lit up and decorated mall with Christmas decors with ?Jingle Bells? playing in every corner of the mall. As we were shopping for some Christmas gifts, I immediately froze, and my eyes got fixed on a humungous object in the store opposite of the one we were in. That was the cutest and the biggest bear I had ever seen. Out of all the decorations and beautifully colored background of store, this was the one thing that caught my eye. It was white and fluffy with a Santa Clause costume, and on its bottom left paw, it said, press here! I sing! As I wandered off to my imaginative world with the bear, I didn?t realize that I had let go of my mother?s hand.
Two or three minutes later my mind came back to the real world. I turned to ask my mom and dad if I could have the bear but they were nowhere to be seen. I looked at the front desk to see if they were buying something but they had vanished. I asked the whole store but nobody had seen my parents. I was scared, but at the same time I realized why my parents told me to stay with them at all times.
I was a young, innocent but naughty six year old girl who was stuck in a difficult situation in which I had to make a tough decision on whether to either cry, to take up the adventure and go find my parents myself, or to get help. I didn?t want to cry because then I would seem like a baby and seem to attract attention. I couldn?t find my parents my self in a huge mall myself, I mean, they could be anywhere!! So I chose the last option which was to get help. But who would I ask? Suddenly, I saw a big, tall, bulky man wearing an officer uniform scolding a group of boys for misbehaving and causing mischief in the mall. It seemed as though God had finally come to my aid and sent me help. I walked up slowly to the man and asked him. ? Excuse me sir, could you help me find my parents? They are lost.? He chuckled, and said, ? well young lady, do you know what they are wearing?? I nodded and described, ? well my mom is wearing a purple sweater with long blue jeans and has hair up till here? I pointed to below my shoulders. ? And my dad is kind of chubby and he is wearing a red and blue striped shirt with black jeans?. He smiled and said ? how old are you?? ?Six? ?well you?re pretty smart for a six year old, let?s go and find them?. I smiled back and said. ? thank you sir?.
WE checked every area in the mall and finally after searching a couple of floors we found them. They were at the help desk about to make an announcement. When they saw me they suddenly jumped up like pogosticks. My dad said, ? Malika we are so happy to see you, don?t ever do that again, do you know how worried we were?? I said with a feeling of guilt inside, ? I know I?m sorry.? I heard my dad talking to the officer and thanking him for finding me. And he just said, ?Actually, she found me?.
Although I never got that bear, I still learned an important lesson. Always listen to your parents. I tell this story even today to my brother and sister and make them giggle but at the same time teach them the lesson I learned and not let them make the same mistake I did.

oh,,ya,,i read finally,,,it is a good story ,,and teaches us good moral,,,that we have to respect the parents,,we should never think that we are greater than parents,,understand that,,whatever they are saying are goodness and welfare of their children,,,,and the story explains us that we should act brave at the time of hardship and when there is no one to help us out,,,,we should never panic in this type of situations,,rather we should act more bravely,,,and we should contact concerned officials,,at the time of hard-ship,,,that's all,,i can say now,,,bcoz i dont what it is abt much,,otherwise i could helped you more!!!
