Regarding Dilwale Dulhaniya le jayenge...... .DDLJ (1995)- The correct PAir?

HI folks!

remember this movie? kewl !!

okay some points to ponder upon -

Saha rukh was a failure in studies and very poor academically whereas KAjol was meritorious and a book worm - a whole lot into academics and was well read...

In real life do you think such pairs would be successful?

Options :

!. Naw! not at all !!

2. - its just a movie yaar - Chill!!

3. Yeah! they would be successful - remember Saha Rukh was from a rich family bkgrd. So he can take care of her material needs.... (then what abt intellectual needs? - go to a Library for quenching Intell. needs ....LOL....pls avoid such silly, base argumentsCool )

4.Exactly how does it matter to you...or any one of us?!

5. Yeah - u gotta a point their - such movies are misleading and thus many ppl are landing up with incompatible partners !

6. I have a diferent opinion - (then please specify)

set the ball rolling folks !! thanx buddies Kiss...and hey! i want some gurlz to participate this time...that wud be greater fun you know....Laughing

and also when Amrish Puri moves his family back to India, Kajol is more worried about missing her friends and Raj and getting married to a stranger than discontinuing her studies..

Re: Regarding Dilwale Dulhaniya le jayenge...... .DDLJ (1995)- The correct PAir?

the plot, songs and everything was nice - even i liked it folks!! - the way He comes all the way from London to a village just to win the Lady he fell for while on an excursion....

..and imagine a guy like him - boozing till late night with friends and partying and having several girl friends - not to mention the smooching and much moring KissLaughingincidents that might have occurred in his life - compared to that Kajol was a homely girl...actualy made homely by strict father Amrish Puri ...otherwise...the otherwise salwaar kameez clad girl wears a backless attire in 'rukh jaa ae dil deewane poochu toh main zara'...showing her true colors?!..kinda always wanted to to a party girl but parents did not allow...

and anyways the fella her ather had chosen for her was worse....quite like sallu bhai - going hunting and all that....and also looking forward to meeting bold girls once abroad ...

so Kajol fell in the fire pan instead of directly on fire....

isn't this the case with most Indian gurlz?

Kajol was quite the party girl before meeting SRK. think back to dancing in the short white skirt in the rain and walking around in London wearing a short skirt when her friend is trying to convince her to come on the trip with them

Re: Regarding Dilwale Dulhaniya le jayenge...... .DDLJ (1995)- The correct PAir?

anyways I dont think theat we can do an analysis of Kajol's character from the "backless" dress she wears or what she doesnt wear.  Pretty wierd analysis we are making .....

And yes SRK is shown as a happy go lucky guy, he was supposed to be this way in the movie, so please dont again make a fuss about smooching etc etc.....

I remember in Chheni Kum's review Deepak wrote that initially the beer scene (when SRK takes beer from Amrish Puri's store in London) wasnt there ....  and instead he was supposed to ask for a condom, but then I guess Yash Chopra just chucked the idea.....but yes today we have become more liberal, we can laugh on movies like Kya Kool hain hum and the condom comedy in Cheeni Kum, and this is for good

Coming back to point, since the initial scene was buying a condom, so I guess this is an answer to the lifestyle which SRK lived....

and I guess this movie is a story of how Kajol tames SRK, but this has absolutely nothing to do with Kajol's "backless" dress!!!!!!

Re: Regarding Dilwale Dulhaniya le jayenge...... .DDLJ (1995)- The correct PAir?

laa hual vila kuwaat !!..condoms??!!Surprised goodness gracious me !!- this movie wud have been an instant flop !! yuk, puke !! chi chi chi - gosh! see just a single scene and the destiny of the movie would have changed - Yash Chopra knows the psychology of Indians pretty well i guess !!...me and my contemporaries were in our 20's then - actually we are responsible for making it a HIT....

we have become more and more shameless - not liberal...this is like going down to the same drain - dungeon where the westerners are finding themselves - drug addicts, suicidal and pedophilics !!...this 'aaj pooja toh kal koi duja' DCH syndrome is more harmful than it sounds.....you nevr find love this way ...only lust which is temporary !

and dancing in the rain scene - 'mere khwabo main jo aaye' one - well she was alone at home yaar - dancing in the terrace - all alone - no onlookers - that does not make her BOLD !- we wear a thin nighty during summers while going to sleep - will you compare us with the Item gurlz then !?

short skirt while abt to go to Europe trip...when shah rukh brushes past her...(deep sigh - such a nostalgic moment it was - 2 gr8 lovers abt to meet soon ) ..neways - was she wearing a short skirt then?...well i don't remember it yaar !

taikng about condoms is not being shameless... its gearing up for future problems (AIDS, Population Control) again I emphasize, its the way you percieve things!

Anyways, the way it was portrayed in Cheeni Kum... I found it good... again opinion might differ!

Re: Regarding Dilwale Dulhaniya le jayenge...... .DDLJ (1995)- The correct PAir?

hey guess what !? they showed DDLJ yesterday in my local cabel

things i noticed yesterday:

when kajol was singing 'towel clad' first and then white short top and shorter skirt and rotating with a lot of speed -unlike mother earth - shah rukh was shown playing all the games men can play...all ball games....and then the ultimate ball game too - he gives a scantily clad girl a lift ...and u all know folks what/why such gurlz take lift in the first place....so i see why yash ji tried adding  the condom scene .....all this while 'innocent white dress clad kajol' was getting wet in the rain...for the viewers to see.....

frankly speaking had it been condom instead of beer - Amrish wud not have left her hand in the last scene - no father can let his daughter to a whore monger yaar...and he didn't know abt Kuljeet's character.....

condom advts. on TV are SICK!!the educated mass - us eg. know how to when to why to.....the mass it is for actually is completly unaware of it - those residing in bastis...they do not even have TV...shows that the advt. gurus are there to show the world ...the models they are having a good time with ..and making othen men jealous of them !Period.
