sholay - a landmark in bollywood movies, a legend in it own... what is it with this movie that even a mention of it brings smiles across the faces, numerous spoofs have been made on it and people have enjoyed it all... drop a line like "gaon waalon" or "mausiji" or "tera kya hoga kaaliya?" and its still a fresh joke... so wats ur take, why does sholay has so much of mass appeal?...

I think this movie had everything in right combination, Comedy, emotion, action, friendship, revenge, the style (amitabh and Dharmendra's ) . The dialogues were amazing, the songs too good. Infact my favourite is the Sholay theme tone. The characters were so balanced as if the roles were written keeping the actors in mind.

The first action scene when the bandits attack the train on which jai and Veeru were travelling is I think one of the best scenes shot till date

this was certainly the Baap of all movies
