As already reported, Kahaani, the Hindi film which had Vidya Balan in the lead role is being remade into Telugu by Sekhar Kammula. The film will have Nayanthara playing the role of Vidya Balan.
The new subject of discussion in Tollywood is whether Naga Chaitanya’s Autonagar Surya film will see the light of the day or not. The question is pointed at Akkineni family which has never faced any kind of disappointment in the careers of Nageswara Rao and Nagarjuna. But Naga Chaitanya, the third generation from their family is not having a smooth ride. He is yet to be established as a hero, meanwhile the much expected film Autonagar Surya has ended up in rough weather and is having trouble reaching the theatres.
Even as Badshah has released to packed houses in Andhra Pradesh, the film is already hitting the headlines for remake rights.
It is believed that Vijay is keen on the Tamil remake of the film and is very much interested in it. The present offer is 3 crores and this is definitely a huge price for remake rights and a record of sorts. Vijay is said to have accepted for the amount.
Meanwhile, producers from Bollywood too have expressed their interest in taking the remake rights of the film.
Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram Srinivas’ new film titled Saradha is underway and the latest buzz from the sets is that the Power Star will be playing role of driver. Earlier, Mahesh Babu had played a driver’s role in Trivikram’s Khaleja. On similar lines Pawan will be seen in this romantic entertainer which also has Samantha in the lead role. This has led to speculations that Saradha will be Khaleja 2!
The much delayed and highly anticipated film Shadow is believed to be the costliest film ever made in Venkatesh’s career, with the budget crossing 30 crores.
News in Tollywood circles is that the latest film of hero Pawan Kalyan and director Trivikram Srinivas has been titled Saradha. Keeping in tune with the director’s taste for single word titles like Athadu, Jalasa, Khaleja and Julayi, this name seems very apt and going by the records of this hero-director combo, the title should be right.
Director A R Murugadoss, who rode the success wave with Vijay's Thuppakki is busy these days on the production front.
He is gearing up for the release of Vathikuchi jointly produced by Fox Star Studios and Murugadoss Productions, who also made Engeyum Eppothum. Vathikuchi is supposed to be an urban thriller written and directed by newcomer Kinslin.
The movie has Murugadoss's brother Dileepan and Anjali in the lead roles. Buzz is that Vathikuchi is slated to release on March 15.
According to latest reports, Pawan Kalyan will be playing the role of a small time lawyer in a film that is to be directed by Krish.
It is believed that Krish has narrated a story, with a lawyer being the protagonist and that Pawan Kalyan is very happy with it. Krish is now developing the script and writing the screenplay, while the hero is busy shooting for Trivikram Srinivas’s film in Pollachi.
An official confirmation regarding the project is awaited.
After a very long gap, Kamal Haasan is likely to do a straight Telugu film. If we are to believe the buzz from the industry, Kamal’s direct Telugu film will in all probability be happening by end of this year. And the credit to bring Kamal back to Telugu screen will go to director N Shankar.
These speculations are flying high in Tollywood, especially after N Shankar was personally invited by Kamal Haasan to be part of his birthday celebrations. In fact, the director happens to be the only person from Tollywood to have got the invitation.
