Yesteryear actress Ambika has turned director for the upcoming Tamil-Malayalam bilingual romantic-thriller Nizhal.

Ambika is co-directing the film with Malayam actor Suresh Nair. This film is touted to be the first point of view (POV) film in Tamil, which essentially means that the actors will hold the camera themselves. The makers believe that this would enhance the experience of the audience.

Pooja Umashankar, who won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for her performance in director Bala’s Naan Kadavul, is back after a short hiatus with an edge-of-the-seat thriller titled Vidiyum Mun.

The film is being directed by Balaji K Kumar, the man behind the award winning Hollywood film Nine Lives of Mara.

Dhanush’s much publicised Bollywood launch-pad, Raanjhanaa will be dubbed and released in tamil under the title Ambikapathy.
The film directed by Aanand Rai stars Sonam Kapoor opposite Dhanush and has music by A R Rahman.
