The movie is set in year 1999-2000. When the technology was about to get a kick start. The 'super fast' 56 kbps cybercafes were rage [yes, it IS in the movie] and the mobiles !!! Aah, the 5510, 3310 & 3315 !! Their Musical tones. And this era is brilliantly created by the guys [Rajeev Ravi] in the movie. Even in the first scene itself, an Aamir Khan poster shows up in faded light. [Now if you have seen the movie, tell me what movie it was??] And in another scene, we see 'Raju Chacha-the most expensive movie ever' Poster. Loved this small small details taken care off. [Art direction: Pradip Redij] Most fabulous was the Mobiles. At many parts, mobile phones and talks about it, got me  stomach-ache. So funny each situation is shaped around. And quirky one liners about them.

Dialogues are also fabulous as the screenplay is. Absolutely fresh and clever one liners I could find here. Sample this, 'If she is Neha, then you must be Pooja, right??'  [cause, in Delhi, every girl is named either Neha or Pooja :D] And its no surprise, that all dialogues are CLEAN. cause its written by a girl:  Sita Menon. And thats what I loved more. Cause I was feared that the movie can go so much the 'vulgar comedy' way, given the storyline, but kudos to the team, this one is so clean and family comedy. [sans two three bad words, that were essential].

first things first, 99 is the flavor of the month and given the current situation in b'wood for many more months to come, its a must watch, no actually its a MUST WATCH!... its crispy, twisty, smart dialogues and storyline and has very good performances...

i wont go into details of the story, but here are some fine points about the movie

1. its fun, real good comic dialogues and one liners

2. its crisp in storyline, dialogues, and creates butterflies in stomach with its twists, good narration in the background

3. real good performance from kunal, he looks too natural, cyrus did a great job, then boman and mahesh manjrekar did well, soha ali is okay, vinod khanna did look like filthy rich

4. its from the makes of flavors, the #1 american desi kind a story and its worth it!

5. the movie has its inspirations - partly from waisa bhi hota hai part - 2, and the pair of kunal and cyrus looks inspired by kung-fu hustle pair

6. captures some essence of delhi really well - you can smell it and say, yeah it does taste like delhi.

7. not a lot of music to cause distraction

8. very interesting casting in the beginning

9. you dont have much of choice, do you? with no new releases anywayz, you really dont want to miss this exceptionally well made movie ;-)

This is the most hilarious film I have seen in a looooong while.. Ithink its going to set new trendinthe Indian cinemagoing  publick,..  Bollywood has not seen a twohero film so wellmade in thepast  and I think it will be rememebred long......

 Sachin adn Zaramud are the most loveablecroosk on the bigscreen, and even though you are little uncomfy wth Rahul, you feel badabout his dilemma - he cant helplying all the time to his wife and anyone   else hemeets.., 

Kuber as the dilli crook is soooooooo extraordinary,,, and original. And mahesh Manrekar is just awesume,.., 

On the whole,,very entertaining and thrilling watch......I wish Soha had a longer role....she' s so good and realistic, and Cyrus was soooooo comic!!!! I loved the film. my full vote for 99

 The movie,claiming to be a comedy/drama is extremely disappointing. It gets off to a pretty good start but the story fails to develop into an interesting one. The story drags on so much that you wish you had much better have stayed home and got your sleep on your comfortable bed rather than the theater seat. It offers quite a good laugh at the beginning but loses its charm as the story develops. The ending catches your attention after a lot of bakwaas jokes.

The so-called comedy flick starts with the failure of Sachin(Khunal Khemu) and Zaramud(cyrus)'s duplicate sim card scams. Sachin and Zaramud, due to various reasons, end up messing with bookie bhai of Mumbai AGM and are stuck working under him, spoiling Sachin's ambitious plans of startin the best coffee hangout in Mumbai. Sachin and Zaramud are sent to Delhi,enter pooja(soha), to get back money for AGM from RAhul(Boman Irani) who is a gambling addict,with various theories about luck and signals and blah blah,and also with various debts and of course no money,beggin his fed up wife Jhanvi(simone) to take him back. All of them get invovled into various fixes wid money being stolen,ideas on how to get it back and so on and so forth. The ending is almost worth the money spent on the tickets,popcorn and your time!!but well it could have been better!

The cast is so-so. Kunal Khemu's acting is pretty impressive considerin his previous ventures,soha ali khan is not worth mentioning. Boman Irani's charm was missing. Overall an ok ok on the acting front,with some good laughs by cyrus.

Well watch it if you have maybe absolutely nothing else to do. A one time watch,hardly.

After a long wait from new releases due to the multiplex strike...I was hoping 99 would be a breath of fresh air! and it did not disappoint!99 is a typical bollywood movie with multiple plots and a mixture of comedy-adventure-romance-music. Though for a hard core bollywood fan, it may seem a little dull! As the songs are just ok! All in all a good movie! Especially after such a long break!

The story follows sachin who is college dropout (street smart! sly defining him! full of ideas, Implementation being the only problem.)And his friend zaramud(basically a fool) who are luckless scam artists, going about doing nothing but joblessly pulling fast ones on people! The twist arises when zaramud with his stupidity lands them both in trouble. In walks AGM! The boss. Who asks sachin and zaramud to go to Delhi from Mumbai to recover some of his (agm) money. Where they are taken for a long gala ride! In Delhi there’s a girl for Sachin, pooja. A gambler who owes everyone money rahul and various high and low profile characters .Rahul and Kuber truly stealing the show!

The movie now goes into this unpredictable and hilarious mode, truly one of the best parts of the movie. with everyone out to take advantage and everyone out to make a quick buck. The acting is good with sachin, pooja, agm and jc, all doing well. but the true life of the movie is a combination of zaramud, rahul and kuber! they make the movie a true comedy.

In the end a good movie! a can watch once!
