Well Boothnath from Br Camp is better out come from their camp and 100% Better than Tashan. Music Is above average nothing special, well the plus point of the movie is Aman Siddique and Legendary Amitabh Bacchan what a brilliant performance, heart warming acting. I clearly know that my Last 2 reviews were not so good but from now onwards i will be giving accurate reviews. I have seen this movie and i was not at all dissapointed, the journey of boothnath is very good also the length of the film is perfect no overdose of songs just arround 2 hour and 10 minutes movie. Editing story screenplay direction and special effect is topnotch. Acting wise Satish Shah, Sharukh Khan in Guest Appearance , Juhi Chawla, AND Priyanshu Chatterjee are first rate. Only Rajpal Yadav is Above Average. Over All a Good Film Guaranteed Paisa Vasool Movie. A Movie for the whole family, Go for this movie please keep tissue for the ending as the hawan scene to get rid of amitabh is heart wrenching scene i started crying when i saw that scene, Hats of to the new Comer Director. A Must See Film |

Children are the most special of all species . they have a great combination of smartness , innocence & naughtiness that delights one & all . they are not an easy audience to please . so making movie for them is tough job . childrens films need to be special & ones which will remain in ones heart forever . The Harry Potter series , Koi mil gaya , Mr India , Makdeee are one of those many movies which fall in that category . anything less than that disappoints . Bhootnath falls in that latter category . The story of a ghost & a human as been attempted many times - Casper is one such example , the underrated Chamatkar is another (my favorite) , the delightful short story by Ruskin Bond is another . In bhootnath Vivek Sharma follows the same formula of a child & a ghost who start off being an enemy then have a never ending friendship . but he fails in the execution . the problem is that the film has too much melodrama & the funny moments which are the saving grace are few & far between . there was no need to go the painful ‘Baghban’ way wich is plain soapy ( the one see in K- serials ) in a children film . infact the Director fails to explore the subject which had a lot of scope . he could have taken some more time in developing friendship between ghost & kid . He should have definitely made it lighter instead of melodramatic . Quite simply told there aren’t any moments that will linger in your heart forever & that’s where the film goes wrong . Another problem with the movie are the song which are plain ordinary except though couple of them like Bankoo bhaiya & the kiddy song have been pitcurised well . Cinematography is ordinary & so are the dialogues . Special effects are nothing much to talk about . But what saves the film are the performances of the entire cast . Sharukh & the underrated Priyanshu in a clichéd characters are mostly in the melodramatic scenes try to infuse life in it through a restrained performance . so is Juhi Chawla one of our most beautiful & competent actresses who shows how good she is in comedy yet again . Satish Shah & Rajpal Yadav are good too . But it is Amitabh Bhachan & the little kid who make this movie worth watching . The kid infact gives the Big B competition in each & every scene . I went to the movie with my little sister & realized she liked the humorous parts but was getting irritated in the sobby parts which proves that the film hasn’t struck a chord with its target audience either . The Movie remains not such a special film for a special audience |

I had my apprehensions before watching this movie as whenever SRK does a cameo, the movie usually turns out to be a disaster. Thank God the jinx is broken with Bhoothnath. The movie touches you so much that you leave the theater taking it along with you. The credit for that goes mostly to Mr Bachchan and that wonder kid Aman Siddiqui, who is simply awesome. As in one of the scenes, he really gives Big B a run for his money. If the kid makes you laugh throughout the movie, he sure does also force some handkerchiefs out towards the end. The bonding between the two main characters looks so genuine that you are totally hooked to the on goings.
This is a story of a relationship between a naughty yet very innocent boy Banku (Aman Siddiqui) and a spirit Kailash Nath aka Bhoothnath (Amitabh Bachchan). Bhoothnath begins on a scary note but soon transforms into a fun movie and continues so until the last half an hour or so. It does get a bit emotional in the penultimate scenes reminding you of Baghban at times but that's something you would naturally associate a BR Films with - entertainment with some strong social messages. Thankfully it's neither too preachy nor too melodramatic. The whole idea is conceived so beautifully and told so simply that it's hard not to like the movie.
I would like to add some of the scenes which are probably gonna stay with you. One - the scene where Bhoothnath refuses to help the kid in the hurdle race but instead gives him a valuable lesson of life. Two, the entire Banku bhaiyya song. It has really good visual effects and pranks which bring smile on your face. And of course, the scene where Bhoothnath starts doubting if he really is a Bhooth or not after having failed to scare the little boy!
Having said that, it must be added that although it's an intelligent stroke from a debutant director (Vivek Sharma), it falls short of being a masterpiece. I think he could have done better by staying away from the "Mukti" part. That made it look like a stereotype. Besides, music by Vishal-Shekhar was below par.
Performance wise, besides the two leads, all actors do their bits quite convincingly. Shah Rukh Khan, in a special appearance, and Juhi Chawla play perfect parents to the kiddo. Satish Shah makes you laugh with the weird accent and tiffin-fetish. Rajpal Yadav does not get much scope but he's good nevertheless.
Finally, it's tough to say who outscores whom - is it Bachchan who's still rocking at 65 or is it the 7 year old cute dude with lotsa style? Regardless, watch the movie for both of them. You'll feel good.

Bhootnath is kiddish rather than being a movie for kids. If you want to watch Big B making faces, rather than emoting, watch Bhootnath. Bhootnath disappoints grossly and add one more to the disappointing flops that Bollywood has generated this year. The story: It is about a child’s encounter with the friendly ghost of the house. As you know it, the Bhoot is only visible by the child and the ghost is always there to help the kid in every scene except for one. The kid (Banku) has a doting mom in the form of Juhi Chawla and a dad in the form of SRK(who seems to have given just three odd days to shoot the movie). Shahrukh Khan works in a cruise liner and mostly interacts with the kid by phone. One comes to know about the ghost’s sad story which coincides with Baghban released some years ago. Mr. Bhootnath was a doting father whose son(Priyanshu) became busy with his career in the west and couldn’t call his parents on time. I fail to understand what is a cardinal sin if the boy goes to the US and cannot get time to speak to his parents. It is not his fault, is it? Ultimately, the boy comes back with his wife (with a fake ‘n’ funny US accent) and they decide to sell of the traditional house, which Big B does not want because the house echoes of sentiments of growing years. While trying to stop his son from leaving, Mr. Nath has a bad fall, and dies to get a prefix, Bhooth before Nath. The rest of the movie is about a hawan to free the haunted spirit trapped inside Bhootnath. http://bollywoodtrends.blogspot.com |
