Horrifying Comedy

To start with I would say, you can watch it once.

The story looks like a ‘Hey Baby’ sequel in terms of giving ‘Moral Science’ lessons to MEN…….Where in ‘Hey Baby’ it was about teaching lessons to the bachelors running after girls saying ‘I need change’.  Here it seemed like, it’s a lesson for the ‘MARRIED MEN’ saying “ I want more’.

Fardeen Khan is a married man and has good, decent, homely, wife (Isha Kopikar), but he has some wild/ romantic fantasies.  So, he has a secretary cum girl friend Esha Deol.  She turns into a ghost after death…………….Here is when it all starts……..I mean the movie…. Laughing

I think, Ramu framed it in a 3 Stage Conceptual Drama.

1.    It goes as a typical Ramu movie for sometime – the Horror way.  I could see some people getting scared and holding the chair or their companions.

2.    But midway, Ramu changed track and may be realized it is supposed to be more of a lesson than the scarecrow.  The ghost became a little more friendly and people started laughing at her. She did some comedy. I and other people as well could certainly find some laughing moments, few jokes.  There are other characters who come into play with short comedy sessions.

3.    And then a different ending – The losers (Fardeen and Esha)  so far become the gainers through a twist.

Photography/ Picture – Looks like a similar ‘Darna Mana Hai’ or Bhoot’ style.  Good horror set-up with a dusky romantic/ horror sets as well.  Overall Okay

Songs/ Music – Songs – I can remember only 2.  1 is a background one and the other has Esha Deol acting like Mallika Sherawat.  So, I could not listen to the lyrics.  She took the whole screen.  Cannot be rated.

Characters – It think; everyone played their part nicely.  Not much of a mess.  Overall Good.

Story/ Direction  – Concept is good but execution lacked.  Ramu is trying too many things in the movie.  You can get it, if you try to understand the switches between comedy and horror, frustration and control.  Story – Good. DirectionPoor

You can watch it once for sure.  Friends are a better company than parents, if you are even a little conservative with your parents.

this is not a review actually but arguement in defense of this genre. The movie has been writ off by the likes of nikhat kazmi and likes as useless and lacking fire.

But, Pray, my dear hi-fi review writers who go to multiplexes and watch movie. they r forgetting about the masses whose sensibilities are not so finely honed as the classess and still like the thrilling horror movie . they definately provide a welcome change from sugary sweet NRI lovestories.

i say, who mai ka laal in this industry is attempting this genre????????

hats off to RGV for being adventurous.

u only win if u lose some.

Ramu needs to do something towards his creativity, where has the horror of raat gone? where has the thrill of Kaun gone, where are the directorial skills of Sarkar gone? However this movie is okish from the aspect that it started as a thriller / horror but eventually everybody in the theatre found it to be a comedy!

this is the third consecutive movie where the camera is always focussed on the leg / feet of actresses, well over the period of time it seems that Ramu has developed a sort of obsession for legs / feet, and it gets really irritating to see out of focussed scenes, this might be good photography but I cant relate to it , or maybe Ramu is ahead of time.

Overall watchable once and in the end u will end up laughing, go with your friends so that you have a good time

*Stars 2

Watchable once

*But after all these errors, i am still waiting for Sarkar-2, maybe this is Ramu's history that still people go watch his movies

Darling is pretty okayish movie. Its about a guy aditya (fardeen), his wife (isha kopikar) and his secretary lover (esha deol). Fardeen has an affair with esha deol, but still doesnt want to divorce his wife. On top of it, esha dies in an accident. and comes back as a ghost !! The ultimate dialogue then from esha is Jeena Haram Kar doongi, and she means it.  Dont want to go into detail, but it has a happy ending :).

Its not a classical horror, and has good amount of bollywood masala in it. Sometimes one cant stop laughing at the fardeen's pitiful state.

Acting is okayish, Fardeen, Esha are better than okayish. Its a tough job for Fardeen to portray those terrified look.

Overal, once watchable .
