Intelligent version of Devdas.. every ones char. rocks.. Dev, Paru, chanda.. posters, music.. taking of the film.. lighting used for the film.. If u are a serious film lover.. U will love it... :)

it is a very good movie..i myself have seen it 14 times till now....and i liked the concept and the conversations also...the linking of the story is excellent...no doubt that is has been made by a very good director and the moral is that if you dont realise the fact in a justified time you will face the ends of the old dev das....everything doesnt have the same fate...so i give a fuck to all the people who havent seen this movie...it portrayed the life of the modern devdas...ir the portrayed the lives of the young people who are suffering now...so i give a fuck to all the people who didnt like this movie..they are all fuckers

I found the movie to be very entertaining... Zara Sa Hatke type.... complete U turn from sarat Chandra's original... a good portrayal the new generation... a mix of everything....

This is an awesome movie on many levels and only a director of anurag kashyap's stature could have made such a movie. I see many reviewers didn't like the movie. That's quite understandable because they are more used to watching coolie no. 1 and (more recently) Singh is kingg type of movies. Kashyap has successfully managed to build up his own version of sarat chandra's Devdas in the modern age and involved some real-life incidents (BMW case, MMS case, et al) to infuse more realism. Everything from photography down to the dialogues are perfectly done. The music by Amit Trivedi does need a mention because that itself is one of the key elements of the film. Every song suits the situation it is played in. And Abhay Deol manages to convey dev's pain without going over-the-top. In the end, all I'd say is from now on whenever somebody thinks of Devdas, they'll think of Dev.D

absolutely stunning movie......mesmerising acting and above all.......... pure transalation of the original "DEVDAAS" to modern new generationn..... hats off to you Anurag kashyap............. and songs...........literally a new direction to bollywood songs........ i cant' believe that someone else can deliever such a great music except Rahmaan in bollwood......watch it and lost in it...............a pure test of Vodka+ thumbs up...!!!!

this movie is nothing like devdas. and thats what makes it different.! it borders on the psycotic. too vulgar. but we needed a movie like this one. true anurag kashyap style. the movie is not a remake of devdas or an adaptation od the sarat chandra chattopadhyaya novel. so it needn't be the same. the portrayal of a fallen man who ends up standing and not screwing him up didnt went down some people's throat. but in the end i think even the original devdas should have done what dev does in dev d.!! abhay deol, mahie gill, kalki, anurag...they all rocked..simply amazing movie..songs are breathktaking...nayan tarse, pardesi, duniya, attyachar... one movie which isnt about hypocritically mellow but realistically real!!

THE MOVIE IS EXCELLENT ....BUT IS ON TOO DARK SIDE...........MANY THINGS ARE DIFFICULT TO DIGEST ........BUT STIL ACCEPTABLE...........THE MOVIE`S PORTRAYAL OF CHANDA ...IS THE USP OF THE FILM.........HER ROLE CONNECTS U TO THE FILM ..........U ACTUALLY FEEL FR HER........BUT THE LINKAGE DEVDAS WITH MMS CASE AND JELLING ITS MEANING IN AN EXTRAORDINARILY DIFFERENT WAY.......IS BRAVE ....AND HAS WORKED AS WELL..........ABHAY DEOL WAS GUD .......PARO WAS OK........BUT CHANDA.......SHE WAS AWESOME........EXCELLENT CUT EDGE PERFORMANCE...........ENDING OF THE FILM SUMMARIZES ALL IFS AND BUTS THT STRIKE THE VIEWERS ........SO GUD FR YOUNGSTERS

Its a gud movie ... but the music is just too gud.. its one of the best album i ever listen to..in my life.. One word to describe this movie "path breaking"
