After her father left her mother and herself and married another woman, Shagun distrusted men with all her heart, and also adopted an embittered view toward life, as a result she ended up without any close friends. Then a young man named Nikhil Mathur moves into her apartment building, bringing joy, trust and romance in her life. But these joyful tidings are all short-lived, as she soon sees him in the company of another young woman named Neha. When Nikhil asks for forgiveness, she refuses to even see him, but then subsequently relents, and decides to forgive him - only to see him in the arms of another arrestingly attractive young woman named Sara.
