This movie is one of SRK's best in my opinion!!! His performance is stunning!!!

I didn't know it was a remake, I'll definetly look for Amitabh's version! I loved this one! I usually try to figure out the plot of the movie whithin the first 20mn, and I tend to get it right. SRK was amazing as usual and looked hot as Don. And the women were all wonderful too :) I've got to get back to watching it for the fourth time! LOL

                so the chase begins again, this time  around  with SRK,he tried hard ,but could'nt deliver the karizma which was expected for such kinda role.this remake lacks style which was the usp of ranjeet barots' original classic.but  the hardcore srk fans will enjoy the movie.farhaan has done a good job as adirector except that khaike song. that was very irritating song and watching srk doing that song was the worst experience.climax was well executed and farhaan also create some twisted from the original script which were fine.music was good specailly the title track main hoon don beautifully sung by shaan but srk was'nt  lookin actually 'khatarnaak' as a don.arjun rampal looked impressive in a small role, om puri was totally wasted in the movie as well as isha koppikar. this film can be watch for boman irani who has done a magnificient job. priyanka has nothing to do.finally i would say ki'DON KA INTZAAR TO GYARAH MULKON KI POLICE KAR RAHI HAI., LEKIN DON KO PAKADNA MUSHKIL HI NAHIN NAMUMKIN HAI.,,ye lines bolte wakt srk bahut bada dhakkan lag raha tha. anyways go for the movie if you a big fan of srk. warna dimag  mein dard ho sakta hai. good luck

i was expecting so much from this don but it hardly lives upto the expections  barring the climax scene the movie was a complete mess u cannot compare the two amitji's don was made in an impeccable way but this don oh my god u cant even say where the story is  moving first of all don was trying to imitate vijay there was no justification because in so less time how can don learn vijay's mannerisms i think  it  will be ok with the ppl who did not see amitabh bachchan's don otherwise it will be confusing for those who have seen the old one  As for  the performances shahrukh has portrayed the character of don  nicely but he looks totally unconvincing as vijay u jst cant compare the two here amitji was rocking in the role of vijay priyanka in some scenes was good but sometimes she overacted and i think sushmita would have looked better in the role  above all boman irani what an actor  simply outstanding 

I completely disagree with everyone who feel lowly of the movie. I would say that the movie is a blend of good direction, photography, story and action. I went to see the movie with a closed mind and expected it to be similary to other SKhan movies - cheap jazz or hysterical drama.

Fortunately, it turned out to fall into a third category - Classic.

I wouldn't wish to spit out the story here and spoil the tastes of those who haven't watched it... but would definately comment that it is a lot different from the older "Don" starring the BIG B.

Would be tough to say which is better, but both shine in their own places.

A movie one must see!!!!

I definetly would recommend this movie for people watching it with no expectations. But for die-hard Amitabh and Don fans, size 20 shoes of BIG B are too large to fill for SRK despite his earnest efforts. The ending of the movie, which is a huge departure from the original may not be universally appreciated. Would have given it 2 stars but a skimpily clad Kareena deserves an additional star for her 5 minute performance.

main hoon don and all its remixes are amazing. the ganapathi moorya song is below average, and so is khaike banaras wala (nowhere near as good as the original). aaj ki raat as well yeh mera dil are very nice.

I loved this movie! I feel SRK has done a great job. And I loved the changes from the original don that farhan has incorporated. I would not like to give out any spoilers about that, would just say that it's totally worth the ticket price, I am even planning to watch it a second time.

I have seen a number of reviews saying that the original don was a classic, and that farhan should not have tampered with a classic. They are all talking crap. Does anyone even remember the last one-third of the original don? It is replete with silly incidents like amitabh doing umpteen cartwheels to single-handedly beat up about 20 people who are there just to surprise him. Then there's the silly april-fool incident where the fake interpol agent uses that to reassure his fellow police officer that he's innocent. The new don in fact picks up pace towards the end and is easily a much better movie overall.

One place where the old don was better was the khaike banaras wala song. The new one is not a patch on that. However all the other songs are equal or better. The audio CD is worth buying, with the remix versions of main hoon don being the best.

All in all, the new don is a classic and fixes many of the flaws in the original don. Don't miss it!

"Don ka intezaar to gyarah mulkon ki police kar rahi hai......." all of u must have heard this dialouge innumerable times but I guess not many ppl (except girls) would like to hear it in SRK's voice. SRK according to me has doner a pathetc job in the movie, he was again trying to be KING KHAN Rather than Don (however his all time best performance I would rate will be Swades)  Farhan Akhtar also has done an okay job, the film at mani instances looks as it is going n in intallments or rather I would say that it was made up of multiple skits, maybe a better ediyoer would have helped,

What I really liked about the movie is the sudden twist in the story, which is also a mystery, and farhan akhtar has done a good derectorial job after the interval.
