including the films music.especially marjawa!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the story n naration is speechless.. though i thougth it wil be purely a girlish film n tottally fashion oriented.....it wasnt the same.. it is fr each n every individual.. u can seee ur self playing an character thr,,,, thats wat is madhurs masterpiece!!!!!!!!!

hai iam mahesh iam a hyderabadi bacically iam a telugu men so i watch hindi movies rarely recently means yesterday in zeetv i saw fashion movie really really i loved it very much the the director sir u did a great job you have showned the fashion world at present blind youth who may spoil their life towards fashion. but me too personally loves designing, fashion, trends, that are going today on a fast track..........   but one thing i want to know is this  a true story .? imean meghna mathur,shonali like models were therein india.? or the director sir "s creation ? any way this makes me to wait for madhur sirs next film...... i visit mumbai only once in last year.........the kangna s acting was amazing super great i loved it and also priyanka chopra i think priya only the actress tht suits very well for that character,.........the friends who read this plz reply me with your opinions to my id"mahi9396@yahoo.com".try to send me the madhur sir films ......and answer my question that meghna and shonali characters are real or created?

The movie gives its viewers an above satisfactory insight into the enticing yet unscrupulous world of fashion and its various facets. The story line evolves with the character of small town girl Meghna Mathur (Priyanka Chopra), her dream of becoming a supermodel, the initial hiccups she faces, to achieving her dream, her downfall and her rising again. The Director, Madhur Bhandarkar, brings to observation, the underlying nitty-gritties of the much spoken about fashion industry. Disregarding the just above average performances of most of the cast, but for Priyanka Chopra who has played her character flawlessly for the most part, the movie deserves a watch.

The movie, in semblance to the director's previous productions like 'Traffic Signal' and 'Corporate', manages to give the story a very realistic and believable backing. Through the characters of models Meghna Mathur and Shonali Gujral (Kangana Ranaut), it portrays well, how addictions to smoking, alcohol and drugs spin themselves into the fashion industry and ruin careers. Another facet that's brushed is homosexuality, its commonness in the fashion industry and the limitations that are drawn around it by society. Also, 'walking the ramp' can be seen in a whole new light after observing in the movie, the numerous speculations that go into it, including the disasters that happen on it, tripping, freezing or unfortunate outfit meltdowns.

Priyanka Chopra appears very candid and natural in her role of a small town nobody working her way up to success. Her performance manages to encompass her transitions, from being completely naive to a drug abusing know-it-all to a soul-shattered model, with ease. Although the same cannot be said about her co-stars Mughda Godse(Janet Sequeira), who plays the role of a struggling model who befriends Priyanka's character, and definitely not Kangana Ranaut(Shonali Gujral) who, apart from her captivating walks down the ramp and periods of inebriation, delivers a rather poor performance. Arbaaz Khan who plays the character of Abhijeet Sarin, the God father of the fashion industry, does justice to his role.

Altogether, it is an entertaining and insightful movie for someone who is not completely put off by the world of fashion and is wiling to let their high expectations rest for a duration of 3 hours.

Meghna Mathur(Priyanka Chopra) had done a fantastic job in the movie a journey of a middle class girl who wants 2 go high and high.......

Shonali Gujral(Kangna Ranaut)she is always good on his way after gangster,she has done a fantastic job... and Janet(Mugdha Godse) a new commer had done a good job and Abhijeet Sarin(Arbaaz Khan) after"Daraar" his another mind blowing movie he had proved that he is fabulous

Madhur Bhandarkar , the name itself is associated with films that don’t tread the normal path , no big stars , no flashy cinematography just pure content . Madhur has always narrated his movie in an extremely simple fashion , no glamour or unnecessary item songs just the story backed by convincing performances . so it is indeed commendable that inspite of folloing this path he still has managed to give gems like Chandni Bar , Satta , Page 3 . I have always enjoyed his movies esp the 3 I have mentioned before . but in recent times his last 2 movies Corporate & traffic Signal have been disappointing . one felt the director in him has started taking the safe route by attempting to catch the same kind of  grim movies that have given him success before . is this signaling the end of Madhur Bahndarkar

      Well I was definitely wrong as fashion marks the come back of the filmmaker ,  as he has hit the bulls eye withi this . the story of the fashion industry is shown from the eyes of a wanna be model Meghna essayed by chopra & her journey from becoming a struggling model to supermodel & finally her fall from the grace to finally rise again like a phoenix . it is this journey & the people she meets in this journey that form the story . there is also the sub story of a supermodel Shonali essayed by Ranaut who self destructs herself  as also the track of a B grade model given to life by the confident debutante Mughdha Godse    & a gay designer , the restraint Sameer Soni & the rich businessman essayed by the surprise of the movie Arbaaz Khan .there are also some more sub plots which the script writer includes nicely in the screenplay . but inspite of  the subplots what takes the movie away the boredom is the various surprise factor engulfed in the movie . right from the wardrobe malfunction  , priyankas realization scene to kangana s death scene & even some of the fashion shows have been visualized  put together by the crafty Madhur .

         Having said this fashion does have some problems as the editing could have ben tighter & slicker atleast 15 minutes could have been cut . secondly , the turn around of Priyanka s character into a grey one has not  been properly explained , the climax had great potential to be exploited more , but Madhur has failed to do so .

   Inspite of these glitches this is definitely one of his best works . it shows in the way Madhur has extracted performances from just about everyone esp his leading ladies .Godse as mentioned earlier is confident , Chopra gives her best performance up till date extremely crafty from changing weight to expressions in order to suit the change in mood of her character . but the showstopper of the movie is Kangana Ranaut  who looks like a diva in each & every ramp scene & performs superbly well   as the skeleton which priyanka s character would become later . Kitu Gidwani is a pleasure to watch after a long time . Arjan Bajwa is restraint as the non compromising model . the music is damn good & is used well in the movie . Cinematography changes mood according to thegraph of the movie . the costumes are superb  .

    In all madhur comes up with one of his finest works & in case u missed it madhur comes in the movie as himself just like Subash Ghai to remind us it is his creation .CERTAINLY SHOWSTOPPING .        

I personally feel that the movie did not justice to the hype, it generated. There was so much Madhur Bhandarkar could do with the film. It is his worst so far. He just scratched the surface of the modelling world, there is so much depth in the content that can be explored. The movie was slow and the first half was page 3 rehash.

amazing story, amazing facts, too many gay characters ;) making straight ppl a lil alien on the planet. but its fine.

Awesome acting by everybody. Kangana Ranaut and Priyanka Chopra bags the best acting award for me. Amazing music. Best part of the movie is that its completely unpredictable....which is wat is appealing. I guess the best movie i saw after rock on is this flick.

This movie highlights the most in-depth problems faced by the runway models. Which is actually touches the heart directly.

In all a 10/10 movie for me. Do watch it.

Madhur Bandarkar Aka the Director: Madhur is someone with great passion both Corporate & Chandni Bar was criticly acclaimed this film is gunna be a blast watch it!!

i liked it a lot!!

first of all i loved the over glamour...the fashion world still remains a dazzlin beauty after 2hrs of crappy insight on it.....the music is really hot! soo very appropriate....all the stars are well cast but arbaaz cud ve made us hate him a bit more convincingly...priyanka looked very bful n did a good job specially in the last half...n i think mugdha godse sud go a long way in bollywood...but the icing on the cake is kangna ranaut....the woman can really use her eyes!!!one moment she is this power tower n n the next moment she is this desperately helpless person n in the end this really soft girl.....loved her from the very first scene...looks like the character was tailor made for her...

Movie is a Perfect Blend of Everything, Brings out the Reality of the Fashion World.

Great Acting by all the cast.

I have watched over 200 movies, and I gotta say that this is the best movie I have watched EVER.

I highly recommend this Movie.
