I remember watching golmaal in a theatre at Hyderabad & having the time of my life laughing . I don’t remember enjoying so much in any other slapstick comedy ever . the chemistry between the 4 leading actors & a superb screenplay laced with humour makes golmaal a classic slapstick comedy . a few years later , Golmaal has returned with a continuation . the only alarming difference on the outside is the absence of the sincere innocence of Sharman being replaced by Shreyas Talapade’ s chaloo brilliance . But is that the only difference ? Unfortunately not , the humour , the novelty factor are all missing in this one . infact this one is not a movie at all but a con show by the makers directed at the audience to collect some easy money , knowing fully well that the popularity of the 1st part will bring the audience . all the restraint humour is replaced by forced laughing & silly gags . the actors especially Arshad have lead to be doing buffonerey . the only gags which lead to some laughter are the ones on itself like the tattoo one or some om shanti om jokes or Shettys favourite scapegoat Sanjay Leela Bahnsali s movies Black or Sawariya . It is utterly disappointing that the talented shetty has become so money minded that he decides to give the audience the raw deal in order to give the producers the right deal . infact the so called story of the movie (whatever is present in the movie ) is a copy of ‘ aaj ki taaza khabar’ a kiran kumar movie which has inspired (ya bollywoods favorite word) many more movies & serials as well earlier . the only good thing n the movie besides Shreyas is Tushaar s mute act , but even that ends up irritating& also derogatory towards the physically handicapped which wasn’t the case in the 1st part as he uses this disability well enough as his own strength . of course there is no Sharman to explain what he is saying . butbhis love story with Anjan sukhani should have been given more prominence as his is the most interesting & amusing character .add to tht is the avergeness of others from ajay to kareena & total incompetence of Celina & others .songs comes at a wrong time . In all Golmaal returns is made attempt at a sequel & a total disaapointment . hopefully the 3rd part is going to be better . |

GR is Definately a Movie to Watch Out for in This Diwali.GR does have some pros and Cons as well.. WHAT MAKES GR WATCHABLE 1) TUSHAR KAPOOR ,SHREYAS TALPADE , MUKESH TIWARI AS WASOOLI BHAI ,VRIJESH HIRJEE AS ANTHONY GONSALVEZ 2) SOME HILLARIOUS MOMENTS AND DIALOGUES. 3) CLIMAX. 4) GOOD ENTERTAINER.IT WONT LET YOU SLEEP IN THEATRE FOR SURE . WHY GOLMAAL WAS BETTER THAN THIS ONE 1) PARESH RAWAL . 2) VRIJESH HRIJEE AND MUKESH TIWARI ROLES HAVE BEEN SHORTENED. 3) MUSIC DISAPPOINTS. 4) NO EMOTIONAL MOMENT. 5) ARSHAD WARSI HAS BEEN WASTED.HE DISAPPOINTS. All in all a total time Paas.If you are a comedy Genre Lover and Love to watch slapstick Humour Like WELCOME then Just Go For GOLMAAL RETURNS . Don't Take Your Brain along with You In theatre or you have to take your thinking caps off before going for this one you wont be Disappointed.Watch It only if The tickets are available in Theatre otherwise watch Golmaal On DVD instead. |

The film revolves around Gopal(Ajay Devgan) who is a manager in a fishery. His wife Ekta(Kareena Kapoor) is a die-hard fan of Saas-Bahu serial and always thinks that his husband has an affair with other girls.
One night, Gopal saves Meera(Celina Jaltley) from bad-boys. Due to some technical problem in thier cars, both of them stay all the night on a yache. In the morning when Gopal Returns, Ekta thinks he has stayed with a girl.
Gopal makes a story that he was with his school friend-Anthony Gonsalves in the night. In order to make sure, Ekta writes a letter to Anthony Gonsalves. Gopal's brother-in-law-Lucky(Tushar Kapoor) finds that his sister has written a letter to Anthony, he tells it to gopal.
Gopal then conveys to one of his juniors-Laxman Prasad(Shreyas Talpade) to become Anthony and solve the problem. But the false Anthony turns out to be real. Inspector Madhav(Arshad Warsi) who is Gopal's sister-Esha's(Amrita Arora)boyfriend finds a dead body of a man from Gopal's company on the same night when Gopal was out of his home. On the other side
Meera turns out to be Laxman's Girlfriend and then the fun starts.
Golmaal Returns is twisty and confusing both in its story and script, but the dialouges and characters make it a simple and perfect story. While you enjoy the husband-wife quarrels, dumb brother-in-law and comedy dialouges; you are provided with many twistS.
Golmaal Returns mainly works because of its tighter script and original dialouges.While you come to know the fuuny changes in some true thoughts and superhit films, the original dialouges laugh you more. The characters play thier roles very well and with the twists, you enjoy the film. Ajay Devgan again shows his talent and his ability. Kareena Kapoor is not as good as Jab We Met, but she consults us with her Saas-Bahu dialouges. Shreyas Talpade, Celina Jatley,Arshad Warsi and Amrita Arora have played thier roles very well.
Once again, this film mainly works because of Tushar Kapoor-The real Star of the movie.Cinematograpy, Screenplay have been Done well. Director Rohit Shetty has proved that he is one of the finest bollywood directors. His direction is excellent. Music is also good.
On the whole, Golmaal Returns is one of the best comedies in bollywood though it has some un-neccasarily scenes, it has easy way of steps to climb the rankings of best ever comedies of the world. Watch it!. |

Golmaal Returns is a movie with the right sense of humour to tickle your funny bone. After a long time I`ve actually laughed so much. It`s not very easy to make the viewers laugh and that too for 2 and a half hours, throughout but this one actually does that...it makes you laugh non-stop.
The movie is about Gopal (Ajay Devgan) who has an important designation in a fishery business and is married to Ekta (Kareena Kapoor). True to her name, Ekta is obsessed with ?K? serials and thinks that her life is also as spicy as the soap operas she watches on the idiot box. Ekta`s mute brother, Lucky (Tusshar Kapoor) and Gopal`s sister, Esha (Amrita Arora) also live with the married couple in the same house. Ekta, following the fottsteps of her ideals Tulsi, Parvathi, etc. of the ?K? serials is always very suspicious about her husband. One night, Gopal comes across Mira (Celina Jaitley) who is being harassed by a bunch of guys. Gopal rescues Mira and takes her to a cruise. Menawhile tha same night, Gopal`s junior assistant is murdered. The next day when Gopal returns back home, he tells Ekta that he had gone out with his friend Anthony Gonsalves and produces a false address upon being asked about Anthony`s residence by Ekta. Ekta writes a letter on the address asking Anthony to meet her if he really exists. In the meanwhile, Inspector Madhav (Arshad Warsi) starts his investigation on the murder of Gopal`s junior assistant and Madhav is also Gopal`s sister`s boyfriend. One day, when Laxman Prasad (Shreyas Talpade) goes to meet Gopal for a job at his office, Gopal asks him to pretend to be Anthony Gonsalves. Little does Laxman Prasad knows that the girl whom Gopal was with in the cruise that night was his own girlfriend. On the other hand, Inspector Madhav after investigations of Gopal`s assistant`s murder case starts suspecting Gopal of the murder. Lots of confusion and humour follows subsequently...
The USP of Golmaal Returns is its humour. The situations and dialogues of the movie are hilarious. Dialogues such as ?shaque!...what the f**k?, ?mein toh isko nishabd samjha par yeh toh darling nikla?, ?yeh hairstylist hai na is hi liye har baat trim karke bolta hai? and many other witty dialogues of this kind will surely result in bursts of laughter within the cinema hall. Also certain scenes such as the one where Kareena thinks that Ajay has died, where the real Anthony Gonsalves has a fight with Ajay,Tusshar and Shreyas, where Anjana talks to Tusshar for the first time, where the three guys (Ajay,Tusshar and Shreyas) dress up as girls in a shopping mall and also the climax will bring the house down. Also, the various spoofs and jokes about certain Bollywood movies, such as Saawariya,Om Shanti Om,Black,etc. is hilarious. The scene where Arshad Warsi comes out of a ladies toilet dressed up like Rani Mukerji from BLACK is really funny. Also, the character played by Ashwini Kalsekar that of Munni is very comical where she copies Rani Mukerji from Saawariya (I likes. Not does she act exactly like Rani but even looks a lot like her. Other than that, the music of the film is just passable and thank God there are not too much songs in the movie but whenever they appear they seem to be unwanted, especially ?Tha Kar Ke? is seriously misplaced but it doesn`t really matter because otherwise the film is quite entertaining.
As far as performances are concerned, each and every actor does his best and excels. Ajay Devgan and Shreyas Talpade have excellent comic timing and both these actors who are generally known for their serious performances seem to be equally at ease with comedy. Tusshar Kapoor who is otherwise criticized for almost each and every performance of his does an excellent job this time, playing the role of a mute guy with perfection. It seems that only this type of role suits him and not the ones where he tries to be a stud.No wonder he was begging the director at the end to cast him in Golmaal 3 too Jokes apart, he does a wonderful job this time around. Arshad Warsi is his usual self ; entertaining and spontaneous but doesn`t get as much scope as the rest of the male actors. Kareena Kapoor as Ekta is extremely likeable and her melodramatic, soap-opera inspired character manages to make one laugh. Celina Jaitley doesn`t seem stiff and wooden this time and this in itself is a big achievement for her. Amrita Arora and Anjana Sukhani are also decent in their respective roles. Supporting actors, Vrajesh Hirjee, Rakhi Tandon and Ashwini Kalsekar all do a great job and make the going-ons more entertaining and funnier.
On the whole, Golmaal Returns is absolutely the perfect comedy movie for all those who want to have a good laugh and forget all their worries for sometime. It definitely lives up to its promise; that of providing good comedy. Now I really want to see Fashion too because I`m sure that would be a good movie too. As far as Golmaal Returns is concerned, it`s definitely very entertaining but you have to take your thinking caps off before going for this one.
