Mediocre movie, Ashkay is hopelessly suffering from acute over acting, but still fails to impress, Ashkays’ performance really gets on nerves of the audience who laugh, not at the jokes but on the silly faces he makes.
The jokes most of the time fall flat, music of the film is monotonous and without any energy and as such it is again a biggest letdown, except one trek based on 1981 classic film LAWARIS is good, but credit of this particular song should not go to the team of House Full.
Apart from Ashkay unbearable performance, some other supporting actors are also suffering from over acting, the entire sequence of deliberate insertion of laughing gas was not funny at all and rather painful to watch, but why such unnecessary sequence was dragged in, there are many other funny situations which could have been inducted. Believe us the kids in the cinema hall started to cry and jump, showing repulsiveness to the awful hen-rooster scene.
Akshay Kumar is horribly rhythmic; He is a senior artist and should know how to create innovation in a film.
Deepika Padukone performance was very good and worth watching in the entire film, but even her role was plagued by Ashkay Kumar terrible smudged lines.
Lara Dutta and Mister Ritesh Deshmukh, was a gaudy couple and totally looked artificial and overdone. The film makers have totally forgotten that they are making a comedy film and not a soap opera.
There is another major flaw in the movie and that is the format of film, the film is loosely based on conception of a local long play drama or rather a stage play with stretched sessions that frustrates the audience.
Arjun Rampal is good in the film, and his role is well executed.
Senior artist Randhir Kapoor is totally wasted, the fault lies in the character, it was hopelessly weak and used just a filler.
Overall the Film was a huge disappointment in its major department, that is the poor comedy displayed by Ashkay Kumar. The exotic locations of filming are of no use in this below average, dull movie.
On a scale of one to ten, House Full merits only 2.5/10.
