I was really keen to watch this movie as I rate Abhay deol as a very promising actor who is always upto experiments and to deliver.

And this movie was an addedd sugar to taste of my belief that this guy is really intended to make a mark of his own.

The narration is slow in the beginning but as the movie progresses it unfolds a series of underlying truths.

The protagonist Satyaveer Singh Randhawa aka SV is a Govt employee who is just scrutinized and suspended while caught red handed for accepting some kind of bribe. He is also a writer with immense  desire to  proove himself. But his first Novel 'Manorama' sinks without a fizz.and he is obviously frustrated.

Sarika(Manorama)comes to seek his help as she has read her novel  and appointed him to give her some tip about his husband's affair.,And wat SV discovers later on  is nothing a sort of serendipity and he soon find himself  in an inextricable situation.

Well I dont want to spoil the fun .So not gonna reveal the  sequnces, But wat proceeds next is a real thrill and almost unpredictable as Dinrat mentioned "in the desert, nothing is what it seems"  U gotta see it to belive it.

Performances wise Abhay deol prooves that he is not a Juvenile actor anymore. He completely got into the skin of the character. His Saala(Bro-in-law)Vinay paathak is simply amazing,u'd just adore him.

Sarika feels  good in a short role.Gul panag has nothing much to do.

Raima sen is looking ravishing yet simple.Veteran Kulbhushan kharbanda is impressive in a lewd politiacian's character. The  desert of rajasthan is picturised beautifully in the movie as it is in real life,(But thankfully No lavish  songs with hundreds of junior artiste and a hero in leather jackets wooing for her ladylove).

At the end i'd say this is one thriller i ve not seen in bollywood  for ages.

Go For it. Feel the Heat.

Yet again an Abhay Deol movie which was so totally different from a routine Bollywood movie. I guess its not difficult to find such thrillers in Hollywood but in Bollywood its an absolute rarity.

Satyaveer (Abhay Deol) is a regular government employee with a penchant for writing. He wrote a detective novel which ended up being a big flop. But he still had that detective lurking somewhere inside him. Thats why when Manorama(Sarika) comes to him with an offer, he couldn't refuse. What started as a small assignment kept getting more complicated and much more dangerous that he could have ever imagined. He should have probably washed his hands off it but his curiosity took him to a point of no return.

In the acting department, Abhay Deol impressed like he always does. The key take away was Vinay Pathak in the role of inspector and Satyaveer's brother-in-law. The guy is just too good. First Bheja Fry and now this. Two totally different roles and the guy was just excellent in both of them.  Gul panag was strictly ok. Raima Sen looked beautiful and Sarika didn't have much role to play.

Cinematography was brilliant. The shots of rural Rajasthan were so real. I myself being from Rajasthan could totally relate to them. Those roads, those houses, havelis.. authentic Rajasthani stuff. No glamour. True potrayal of how Rajasthan is. There was no trace of any fake there.

Plot was good. The storytelling and the pace of it were apt.

Overall if you are fine with watching a slow paced thriller with no glamour element, I would say go for it.

A very good movie, after a long time I happened to see a good suspense thriller in bollywood, however it is said that this movies is inspired from an old Hollywood flick, Chinatown, well I havent seen Chinatown but found tghis movie's theme as well as story very gripping.

Abhay is too good in the role of Satyaveer Singh Randhawa an aspiring detective and a suspended Junior Engineer. The director apparently has captured the issues and the lives of people in small town India very well. And inj the end every thing gets explained. However there is a point in the movie when all the clues with Abhay are open ended. But I guess this gets explained in the end. I wont reveal anything about the movie's story as it might spoil the enthu!

Overall a must watch!

Manorma six feet under is great suspense movie. Its definitely a hatke movie, and you wouldnt see this genre released too often in bollywood. Nicely made..

I wouldnt go in any detail about the story - its a suspence afterall !! .. But its great story, keeps you hooked up till the last moment. I was discussing it even hours after watching. All the ends are nicely connected !!..

Acting is okayish. Abhay is okay. Gul Panag is just okay.. Somehow abhay has got a chance to act in these amazing hatke movies - lucky chap. He has definitely made his mark in this overcrowded new comers group ...

My take is - its a must watch !!

the movie is pretty good suspense thriller, has a gripping story and amply satisfies its punchline "in the desert, nothing is what it seems"...

the movie is about satyaveer (abhay) who is largely a junior engineer in irrigation dept and a small part of him is a detective, he has written a detective novel named manorama which was utter flop but the raghu detective in him is still alive... he has a happy family with gul as his wife and a small kid... he was caught in a bribe case and has been suspended from his job... now abhay is approached by sarika for some real life investigation and he takes up the case... what follows is a series of events and abhay keeps getting into thick of the things... he is following lead by lead and unearthing evidences... but are those evidences just the mirages of the desert or more than that?... this is what abhay is trying to find out... and i guess i shud not reveal anything more :-)...

overall very good performance by abhay deol, he is the thing to watch out for in future, he is pretty well supported by gul, raima, vinay pathak... the movie's story is flawless (well, almost :-) and no loose ends, everything gets explained at the end.... overall the movie makes for an interesting watch...
