A prehistoric saga, the story is set on the backdrop of a village near Pollachi and here is Annamalai (vijaykanth) who is more like a village head and is regarded very high by all. He is known for his generous nature and taking good decisions on the village's welfare. Having a contented married life with Alamelu (ambika), daughter Sumathy (ammu) and most importantly his son Pichai (vijaykanth), all goes well until Pichai falls in love with Radha (meena) who is a music teacher. Also, Pichai changes his name to Raja since he is ridiculed by many and also begins to start cultivating dates on a barren land owned by them. However, he gives away that land to Radha to get her out of a problem and realizes that she has actually cheated him. Radha joins hands with a rich industrialist (Sampath) who has an eye for that land. Their wedding also gets called off. Meanwhile, Raja decides to get back his land and then comes Chandra (meera). What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
