I like Amitabh & Rekha movies from Silsila and others

This is one of my all time favorite Muqaddar ka sikandar was  directed by prakash mehra it stars amitabh bachchan vinod khanna rekha and raakhi in the lead roles

STORY
Abandoned as an orphan, Sikandar ( Big B) struggles to make a living by slogging day and night .He succeeds in business but is thwarted by love, as his childhood sweetheart, Kaamna (Rakhee Gulzar) ends up falling in love with his so-called friend, Vishal (Vinod Khanna).

A tragedy that will haunt you and so will the melodic strains of Kishore Kumar's "O Saathi Re." . This film stands out for Amitabh Bachchan's superb performance

This film starts off with a young boy who is a homeless orphan He works in kaamna's  house as a servant He falls in love with Kaamna on her birthday celebration kaamna's father accuses him of theft (which he hadnt committed) and throws him out of the house  He gets the name sikandar from his foster mother who dies  He grows up into a young man(  amitabh bachchan) However he meets kaamna(raakhi ) but she rejects him so  sikandar starts drinking and visiting  zohra (rekha)a prostitute  who falls in love with him.Later sikandar discovers that kaamna is in love with his best friend vishal and they decide to get married meanwhile zohra's lover( amjad khan) hears of zohra's love for sikandar and  on the day of their marriage  zohra's lover kills sikandar and zohra commits suicide

 performances wise amitabh bachchan was at his usual best in the role of sikandar he was excellent rekha was great and vinod khanna and raakhi were ok songs were excellent especially o saathi re and salaam e ishq 

overall this movie was a tragedy but a must see for amitabh bachchan's fans
