                                       Partner
Firsts things first , David Dhawan is the comedy king of bollywood and no doubts about that.
With Partner he tries to recreate magic again but fails miserably, half an hour
into the movie and you realize, has the man the midas touch lost it.
Bollywood version of Hitch fails to live up to the original’s stature.
Not one instance in the film where one could laugh out heartily.
Rajpal Yadav , David dhawan’s addition to the original script is totally wasted .
Jokes are too stale and at best you yawn at them. One pities an actor like him doing such stuff.
Sallu as love guru does not give too many moments where you could just
sit back and admire him, jokes about him being shirtless and all are
too old for anyone to even bat an eyelid. Screenplay of the movie lets it down.
Music never makes you feel good . Though David Dhawan is not known for
making intelligent cinema but one can’t expect  the audience to
shy away from logic totally . Katrina  and Lara don’t have much to do
except dance in the songs. Sallu’s statement that
Loving a journalist is pretty tough doesn’t win him any brownie points with media gals.
The only high point of this slow paced flick is Govinda trying to
fuse some life into the film. His comic timing alone though is not
enough to save this one . Govinda it seems has managed to hold onto the one
Thing that has kept him afloat all this years and that is his comic timing.
watch it only if you are a staunch supporter of Govinda because
otherwise there is not one good reason to bear with the movie for 150 min.
